Waitangi Day
On Thursday 6th February the school will be closed for our National holiday to commemorate the first signing of New Zealand’s founding document on February 6th 1840: Te Tiriti o Waitangi, The Treaty of Waitangi. We hope that you enjoy this special day with your whānau and take time to talk about its significance and importance, both in the history of Aotearoa and for us today.
School will resume as usual at 8.40 on Friday 7th February.

Uniform
We encourage students to wear their uniform with pride. This term students should be wearing their summer uniform. This includes wearing correct PE gear and a sunhat outside. PE t-shirts for students in Years 3-8 are available to purchase at the office. Students will be required to sit in the shade at break if they do not have a sunhat.
Sandals or regulation shoes and socks may be worn. If your child is a student in the Totara Whānau they will need to wear their shoes and socks for TECH on Monday’s as it is a safety requirement.
As it is a summer term, students will be asked to remove their jersey or polar fleece when inside the classroom.
Please ensure all items of uniform are named so if they are misplaced they are able to be returned to their owner.

Rehydration
As the weather is humid please ensure your child brings a named bottle of water to school. Regular rehydration is important for your child to be able to learn and manage in the classroom.
Reminder: St Claudine’s is a water only school.
