Welcome back to school for the final term of the year. This term we welcome Mrs Rebello to our teaching team. Mrs Rebello is teaching in our Rata Whānau – Rata Tahi. At the end of last term we farewelled Mrs Palmer from Totara Rua and she has been replaced by Ms Page.
Our Value as we being this term is GIFTED/ TĀONGA- Our students are developing an understanding of the fact each and every one of us are gifted and have something to share in our school community. Some of you may have already engaged with your child to help identify what their gifts might be. This is a great chance for you to remind your children what is special about them. We want our students to know and share their gifts with others.
Our connected curriculum this term continues to develop the theme of being travellers- this term is a focus on what we contribute to make the world a better place.
My Contribution to this World
We understand that we each bring our unique self to the world.
We know that we are global citizens.
We can share ourselves within our local community.
Your children will be engaged in a wide variety of activities that enhance their contribution to our school, our community and our world. Take some time to check in with them about what they are doing and each whānau will keep you up to date with their weekly blurbs.
“At the end of the day it’s not about what you have or even what you’ve accomplished… it’s about who you’ve lifted up, who you’ve made better. It’s about what you’ve given back.”

Teacher Only Day- Friday 25 October
Next Friday our teachers will be participating in a Ministry of Education allocated Teacher Only Day. The purpose of the day is to explore the new NZ Maths Curriculum. We will be looking at the document and revising our current Maths Skills Profiles to align these with the requirements of the new document. The government is also providing new resources to match the new curriculum so we will begin to explore these and see which is the best fit for our school.
