A Term to Celebrate!
As Term One draws to a close, we take a moment to reflect on what has been a busy, vibrant, and fulfilling start to the year. It’s hard to believe how much we’ve packed into just a few short months!
We began the term by introducing our new school timetable, helping create greater consistency across learning blocks and supporting smooth transitions throughout the day. This shift has provided our students with a more settled routine and allowed our teachers to make the most of every learning opportunity.
A huge highlight this term has been the work our staff have undertaken to develop guidelines for teaching the new Maths and English curricula. These important steps are helping us shape a cohesive and future-focused approach to learning that meets the needs of every learner. We’re excited to see how this mahi will continue to grow and evolve in the coming terms.
We also loved seeing so many of our families at our Pizza and Pou Whānau Connect Evening. This was a beautiful opportunity to come together, share kai, build relationships, and strengthen the home-school partnership that is so vital to student success. We are in the process of preparing the Pou and the fence -we are looking forward to seeing the whānau stories displayed in our school.
Our tamariki have also been active on the sports field with Ulalei Football and Touch, developing their teamwork, fitness, and confidence. We’re proud of their efforts and the spirit of fair play and fun that they bring to every game.
Another special occasion was attending the Archdiocesan Commissioning Mass for Staff, where we joined with Catholic educators from across the region to mark the beginning of the school year in faith and fellowship.
Back at school, we had a blast during our EOTC (Education Outside the Classroom) Day, which was full of laughter, creativity, and new experiences right here on site. It’s always special to see our students engaging in hands-on learning in a different way.
We were honoured to host the Special Character Review Team this term. Their visit affirmed the strong sense of faith, community, and Gospel values that underpin all we do, and we look forward to continuing to grow in our mission and charism.
This week we host the Education Review Office- the team will be on site for two days. This is an opportunity to showcase the wonderful teaching and learning happening at our kura, and to engage in valuable conversations about how we continue to grow and improve as a school.
As we head into the holidays, we want to thank our amazing staff, students, and whānau for everything you’ve contributed to such a successful term. It’s been full-on, but full of joy too — and we’re all definitely ready for a well-deserved rest!
Wishing you all a safe, restful, and happy break. We look forward to seeing you refreshed and ready for Term Two.
Ngā mihi nui,
Sue Jury

A Special Invitation

We are soon beginning our Sacramental Journey and this year we would like to offer a special invitation for Baptism. We are happy to support whānau who wish to have their child baptised by having a school Baptism programme and celebrating the sacrament of baptism together. If your child (Year 4 and above) has been baptised in another Christian Church and you would like them to join the Sacramental Journey they do not need to be baptised again- they will just be able to be initiated into the Catholic Church.

Whether you have been baptised or are wishing to be baptised and you would like to join the Sacramental Journey please complete the link for the registration form.

Hutt Fest

We are thrilled to announce our participation in Hutt Fest this year for students in Year 5 to Year 8. Teru and Atilla have offered to assist in organizing a 15-20 minute performance that will showcase our Pasifika culture at the event.
We would like to extend an invitation to any parents interested in joining a support group to help with the performance, practices, and to encourage our tamaiti throughout this exciting journey.
If you would like to be involved, please reach out to:
