It is so wonderful to see our students engaging in such a wide range of learning experiences. It is important to have the chance to do some of the things we love to do whilst also continuing with our vital learning. It has been a busy week in the classrooms with students doing their mid-year assessments in Reading, Writing and Maths. We as a staff are looking forward to collating and analysing the data to see how much our students have progressed.
You may be a aware that the government has changed our curriculum for Maths and English and we have worked hard to adapt our programmes to ensure we meet the requirements. Along with the change in curriculum there is also a change in expectations for reporting. We have adapted our report to meet this requirement and are now working hard to develop processes for how we will report to you the progress of your child.
Our next Whānau Connect are our learning Conversations. These will be held on Wednesday 18 June from 3.00pm to 8.00pm and Thursday 19 June from 3.00pm – 6.00pm. We will send the link for booking after King’s Birthday weekend, but please mark these dates in your diary. At these conversations teachers will share your child’s assessment results and report with you. They will explain the changes to our reporting and answer any questions you may have.
We look forward to connecting with you again.

Sacramental Programme
On Sunday May 18 -Eleven students were baptised. It was a beautiful ceremony. Thank to the Parents and Godparents who joined with us to welcome these students into the church. Thanks also to the Staff and Fr Akuila for their efforts in preparing, planning and officiating at the Sacrament. Please keep these students and their families in your prayers.

Whānau Connect
You will remember our lovely whānau connect hui in Term one, our Pizza and Pou evening, where so many of you came to paint your story on your Pou. The Pou have now been installed on the fence and look amazing. Its lovely to see students taking their friends to have a look at their Pou.

Next time you’re in take a look.

Kupe Kids
Each Friday our students split into Tuakeina-Teina groups to engage in a wide range of activities. We notice the delight they have going to their session and the high level of engagement in their activity. Take some time to ask your child which group they are in and how they are enjoying it.
